Historical Egypt

In addition to the sailing packages we can also offer you the opportunity to visit the wonderful and awe inspiring temples and tombs of this amazing land.

We can arrange to take you in a fully air conditioned car or minibus, depending on the size of your group, to all of the magnificent monuments that this land has to offer.

Around Luxor itself, we have the world famous Valley of the Kings with the magnificently painted and carved tombs of the Pharoahs. Mortuary temples abound on the West Bank of the River Nile and they can be easily reached within a few minutes.

Combining History and the Spiritual

Many of the smaller temples are off the normal tourist trail, and are perfect for wandering alone, maybe taking yourself into a deep meditation.

The tombs of the Nobles are smaller than those of the Pharoahs, but no less impressive. Scenes of daily life adorn their walls showing us that daily life is much the same today as it was then.

The East Bank of the River Nile has two of the most beautiful temples, Luxor and Karnak. Karnak is impressive for its sheer size, but it also has numerous small quiet temples within the complex, some of which have a very special spiritual significance. A few minutes drive away brings us to yet more temples, silent in the heat with only the birds to keep us company.

Desert Trips

You can take a drive out into the desert to visit the Oases with their healing waters and springs. Imagine bathing in warm healing waters surrounded by the beauty that is Egypt. Or a little further afield, you find yourself in the White Desert with its dramatic formations of chalk or climbing Crystal Mountain, a treasure in itself.

Cairo

Cairo is just an hours flight away and we have good contacts in Cairo who will show you the Pyramids of Giza, the enormous Cairo Museum, take you shopping in Khan el Khalili (the oldest souk in the world and a myriad of gold, silver, spices and anything else you want to buy). Visit the quieter pyramid fields of Saqqara, Dashur and Abu Roash or drive a little further south and see the beautiful pyramid of Meidum.

Aswan

Aswan is just a 3 hour train ride away, or you can travel by air conditioned car. It is a very pretty city where the Nile is full of small islands, felucca sails bright in the sunshine. Its markets and souks are pretty and less touristy than Luxor, and the people are very friendly. Let us take you to Philae, temple of the goddess Isis, standing proud on an island in the centre of this fabulous river, or see the Nubian Museum, history of the Nubian people who were displaced when the great High Dam was built. Or a little further afield are the awesome temples of Abu Simbel, built by Ramses the Second. No-one should miss these temples.
